MY NEIGHBORHOOD NEEDS ITS LIFE BACK

  1. I love that you focused on your home and your block. I love the focus shots you have on the sky. Your title though implies that you want to do more - and I agree because originally I wanted to do a similar thing with my assignment - and found it hard to express that point without currently being able to edit or incorporate other media like other photos/still images. I think more emphasis on particular areas of your home and block would enable you to illustrate your point in a one-take shot like this: focusing on a crack in the sidewalk, a singular branch of the tree, and an extreme close up of the barren grass patch integrated throughout would have made the point stand out. Great video though!

  2. Joyce Kilmer wrote "I think that I shall never see, a poem as lovely as a tree". I love trees and believe they symbolize neighborhoods. I know that their propensity to create oxygen is certainly life supporting. As you panned around the neighborhood because I saw no human signs of life I felt the loneliness of your neighborhood. Despite the devastation of the events that make you plea for the return of your neighborhood it still retains a sembalance of its beauty in the trees that stand like wise sentries. Good work . Your film is thought provoking.
